Liliesleaf
Your journey starts at Liliesleaf Farm which was a safe house for the ANC in the days when all opposition to Aparheid and the National Government was banned and forced underground. It was a refuge, a place whereleaders (including Nelson Mandela who stayed here under the guise of “gardener”) came to discuss ideas and ideologies and to plan for the future. This museum has carried that atmosphere of thought and intellectual pursuit into their exhibit. Liliesleaf isn’t a recreation of a house as it was in 1963; it’s an explanation of ideas as they were in 1963. And an explanation of how remarkable those ideas were.
We stop off here to find out more.

These are some of the most beautiful and expensive suburbs in Gauteng.
